The Present Invention relates to a male Sexual Impotence Treatment Apparatus

Male Sexual

Impotency is more common in men than perhaps is thought after national surveys in the U.S. show that 10% of men between eighteen and fifty nine have trouble achieving or sustaining an erection and between the ages of 40 and 70 this increases to an amazing 52%. Judging from studies, an estimated 18-30 million men in the USA alone are affected by impotence and require some form of impotency treatment.

Where impotency treatments have been used successfully they have shown improvements in the intimacy between couples including sexual aspects and have helped with depression and aspects of everyday life. Some people believe that if you suffer from premature ejaculation then you have an erectile dysfunction and need impotence treatment but this is not necessarily the case.

Any impotency treatments should start with those that are the least interfering first and before this, any drugs that could be detrimental should be stopped. Psychotherapy and behavior modifications are considered next, followed by vacuum cylinders, oral drugs, topically injected drugs, extagen and surgically implanted cylinders and very rarely, surgery on the penis itself.

Impotency treatment using methods that help psychological problems, decrease anxiety associated with intercourse by using the male’s partner to help him unwind. Often the problem is a physical one and these methods are used to handle those with success as well.

Drugs when used as an impotency treatment can be taken by mouth, injected directly into the penis, or inserted into the urethra at the tip of the penis. After many trials, the wonder drug Viagra was given approval by the American FDA in March 1998, taken an hour prior to sex it was the first oral impotence treatment for males. While Viagra increases the reaction to sexual stimulation, it does not produce an automatic erection as injected drugs do and should not be used more than once a day. Many men have low levels of testosterone but this can be corrected with oral medication although it is still not proved that the responses to this impotency treatment are not those that are provided by a placebo effect.

When injections directly into the penis are employed as an impotency treatment, the erection is caused by the penis becoming full of blood. These drugs may create undesirable side effects, including continual erection and scarring. A shot of Alprostadil inserted into the top of the penis using an application device produce an erection in as little as ten minutes which may last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

Vacuum cylinders that wrap around the penis are a type of impotency treatment that applies a partial vacuum to draw blood into the penis thereby making an erection. An flexible band is then situated around the base of the penis, to sustain the erection after the cylinder is removed and left on during intercourse to prevent blood from flowing back into the body.

Medical research on impotence treatment is expanding rapidly and patients should ask their doctors about the latest improvements. As an end note, it is also worth investigating the side effects of any impotency treatment that you are asked to try.
