More technical terms for yeast infection include monilial vaginitis or vaginal candidiasis. The fungi Candida seems to be the primary culprit causing this infection. More specifically, the fungus Candida albicans for most part, induces the infection in adult females’s vaginal region. All the same, you should be aware, that Candida is present already, in the body of the woman. You should not worry about a frequent, naturally present fungus.

The food you consume, your individual hygiene and the even the lifestyle you live all can impact on the growth of the fungus in your vaginal area. A full development of a yeast infection can occur by eating to much sugar and Carbohydrates. By eating an surplus of these two food stuffs it provides the fungus a better chance of surviving and growing in the end leading to the full development of the infection. High sugar levels in the blood stream and body feeds the Candida fungus more.

During pregnancy, the change of female hormones ordinarily cause this infection. Glycogen becomes raised during pregnancy when estrogen levels rise significantly. At this time, glycogen causes the region to be more receptive to the growth of yeast. According to specialists, glycogen might cause the yeast to grow quicker and even allow the fungus to stick on the walls of the vagina.

Consuming antibiotic drugs will assist with the expansion of the fungus. Using antibiotic tablets for extended periods of time can kill both good and bad organisms in your private area. The body tends to respond to a fungus taking over an area by infection.

The most common indicators are itchiness, irritation, a burning sensation and tenderness of the vagina and surrounding tissues. These at least are the early symptoms of the infection. After it passes the beginning stages you may start to see some creamy, white, cheese-like discharge. While expecting having sex activity can often increase your chances of a yeast infection. The infection might cause some pain during sexual intercourse so it would be better to put things off for a while.

Most importantly for all you expectant mothers, the yeast infection won’t adversely affect the fetus. The infection will not impact on the development of the baby as well.
